A little detour...
SOX WIN!!! SOX WIN!!! SOX WIN!!! And now, back to your regularly scheduled LIS commentary:
In case you haven't seen it, ISBN-13 is set to be released in January 2007. Kind of hard to believe that they've turned into the phone company (come on, how many area codes do we need?!), but I'm not surprised as I recently discovered two sets of duplicate ISBN's.

Question about ISBNs
If anyone out there is familiar with the process of the assignment and reassignment of ISBNs, could you e-mail me through the contact form?
The question/situation is that I was entering books into LibraryThing.com and discovered that two of my books had their ISBNs assigned to other books, from a different publisher, that were released about 10+ years later. I know that the original edition of these books were no longer available when the later books were published, but I'm curious as to how a book, from a totally separate publisher, could be assigned the same ISBN. Feel free to post here instead of e-mailing me if you want. Cheers!
